Sort and Filter: Exploring Your Audience

Sort and Filter your Follower Report to identify unique segments of your audience

How Can I Segment My Audience?

When you first get your SocialRank report, you will see a list of all your followers, as well as information on the profile of the individual follower that is selected.

You will probably want to get a more detailed picture of what your audience looks like by creating segments: isolating sub-groups of followers who share similar traits.

There are two basic ways to explore your list of followers: sorting and filtering.

Sorting is choosing how you want to rank your followers in a segment. The default Sort is by Most Valuable. It’s determined by a few metrics:  number of followers, average likes and comments per post, and the amount of engagement that profile has with their own audience.

These valuable followers generate engagement with their own audience, so they can be great ambassadors for your brand.

Select your sort preference at the top of your dashboard:

NOTE: Most Engaged and Best Follower Sorting capabilities are only available for Twitter, due to Instagram's API settings.

A filter is a criteria that you want to include in the segment.

With SocialRank, you have almost endless opportunities to filter your audience, and you can get really detailed and granular.

Imagine you're an up-and-coming beauty brand who wants to send free samples of your new product to beauty micro-influencers. By using the “beauty” and "mua" bio keyword filter, searching for accounts that have between 2,000 and 10,000 followers, and adding a location filter for North America, they will have quickly and easily targeted followers who can evangelize their brand while cutting down on the cost of shipping the samples.
