When you encounter discrepancies on your report
Why isn't the Profile Information Card Data updated more often?
So what's the point of looking at my data if it's old?
Metrics don't have to be 100% accurate to be valuable- most other data companies, besides being more expensive, will use samples of 3-10% of your audience to give you metrics such as gender, income, etc. Large enterprises make marketing decisions all the time based on sample data.
Think about it: when was the last time you overhauled all your interests, affiliations and follows on social media? How different was your profile a year ago? How many inferences into your likes, hobbies and interests would be inaccurate today with last year's insights?
A Tip: Build it into your research
A good way to work with data is to always account for a little wiggle room: if you want to search for profiles with 5K followers, create a range that can account for normal growth within that time frame, like 2K- 8K.
Is there a profile that has 25K on Instagram but they appear in your search? Well, that might be an indication that their growth isn't organic, or that they use bought followers.
